Speech and Language Pathologist
Beginning 2018/19 School Year – 1.0 FTE
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST:
- Master's degree in speech pathology or equivalent.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a valid TSPC Personnel license (Initial Speech Pathologist, Continuing Speech Pathologist, Transitional Speech Pathologist or Restricted Transitional Speech Pathologist)
- Ability to establish positive relationships with staff, students and parents.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using a consultation and coaching model.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST:
- Assessment and evaluation of students for special education eligibility and intervention strategies.
- Prepare and present evaluation results reports.
- Coaching and consultation with parents and school staff on speech, language, and pragmatic interventions.
- Provide speech, language, and pragmatic services as related service per students IEP.
- Leadership and meeting facilitation, with a focus on problem solving.
- Ability to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of state and federal special education law and regulations sufficient to ensure legal compliance.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Start Date - August 24, 2018 (Orientation Day)
- 0 FTE
- 191 day contract
- Current year salary is $35,369 – 53,499 Excellent fringe benefits
- District paid employee contribution to PERS (Public Employees Retirement System)
