JOB SUMMARY:
This position will assist District personnel with student connection activities and serve as a bridge between schools and Spanish-speaking families with the intention to build relationships, improve understanding, address the needs of stakeholders, promote engagement in schools, and work with staff to create a welcoming environment that values parents as partners in their children's education.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in program coordination and provide interpretation services during, but not limited to, parent/teacher conferences, school and district meetings (disciplinary, IEP, attendance/attendance letter delivery, etc), health/welfare checks, parent workshops, and evening school events.
- Perform duties to encourage student attendance and student connection to school programs and activities.
- Assist school personnel with student safety and supervision.
- Keep records of student/parent contacts. Enter into Synergy as requested by building principal.
- Participate in in-service training programs.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Building Principal.
- Presents a positive attitude through appearance, personal neatness, personal habits and punctuality.
- Communicates and works cooperatively with students, staff and the public.
- Maintains confidentiality in performing assigned tasks with regard to students and their individualized programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in English and Spanish with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Aptitude for the work to be performed, and is minimally proficient on the computer.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Ability to pass a Criminal Background/fingerprint check ($66 fee)
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

WAGES: 2024/25 Salary Schedule currently in negotiations – (2023/24 pay scale $16.45 – $18.16 per hour). Placement is dependent on years of experience and per the OSEA Agreement.
